Child Safety sealOctober is Child Safety Month!  The Window Covering Safety Council (WCSC) and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) are urging parents and caregivers during October to check their window coverings for exposed or dangling cords that can pose a strangulation hazard to infants and young children, and to retrofit or replace them with today’s safer products. WCSC and CPSC recommend that only cordless window coverings or those with inaccessible cords be used in homes with young children.

Often people don’t think that cords dangling from blinds are a safety hazard. Loose cords have caused injuries and even death to children and pets in the past.

For the month of October, Gailani Designs, Inc. is offering blinds with free cordless features. Please call us for a free estimate or consultation (630)420-0800.
