Grandiose and opulent was the goal for these dining room curtains! The client loves to entertain, and it is very important to her to have a dining room that reflects her style. The client wanted a dining room curtains design that created a luxurious style to the room, using the rug as the base for her color scheme.
Two cornices on top of each other were created and drapery panels were installed in between. The upper cornice was designed to simulate crown molding to add height to the ceiling since it is not so high. and the panels are hung under and over the lower cornice.
The panels are made from a tapestry fabric that complements the rug; they are lined in a dupioni silk in a soft burnt apricot color. The panels are pulled by rope trim to expose the second layer of panels underneath. The ends of the cord trim were finished with tassels. The end of the outer panels forms a graceful cascade.
Additional silk panels peek through, to help create the “layered luxury” look the client was after. Pleated sheers in a pale apricot color lie under the majestic treatment for a touch of softness and grace. The client fell in love with this room, saying, “I purposely cut through the room even when I don’t have to. I just want to enjoy what I see!”
